Monday Morning Minute:
Listen. You’ll hear many tired and a bit frazzled- just working to keep the pace. Do you hear our clinical partners seeking to make sure they are able to do their very best clinical work at a time of crisis- even when pushed beyond their comfort zone? I hear anxious doctors, nurses and support staff whose daily work has been put on hold. There is the stress filled breath of leaders striving to find equipment and live in the immediate crisis while they push off the very real financial realities of the pandemic. For stakeholders outside immediate involvement, there is a collective breath of uncertainty with furloughs, layoffs and jobs that no longer add the same value they did just a few weeks ago.
Healthcare providers, we all have different roles to play and each organization needs something different from each of us each day. As we band together, it’s a good opportunity to think beyond our role and consider the needs of the whole organization. When we come out of it on the other side, we’re going to want everyone to feel whole and valued for the contributions they made for the organizations we love. This week, it’s time to listen…
