Sometimes sitting in an airport, I people watch. I see people who feed on attention. I notice the very loud ones, the business people empowered by the act of “doing a deal,” the movers and shakers who live to close one and open the next opportunity. I see families, moms and dads filled with pride and trepidation as they herd their little ones through the boarding ordeal. I also see readers. Airports seem to be filled with readers. I’m sure some are reading to learn, others are simply passing time, but I believe some, like me, read for inspiration and personal growth.
Such observations got me thinking about the different ways we gather inspiration for the work we do. In turn, those thoughts led me to consider what “feeds me?” Often a good quote or a great saying resonates and it plays over and over in my mind. I work to apply it to my life. I try to be present with the uplifting thought. And even if it is only for a moment, it’s a very good moment. Do you have a favorite quote? Or is there something else that sings to you and inspires you through the day?
