Monday Morning Minute: Listen for the Why

Sometimes what a physician tells you is only part of the story. A comment about access, scheduling, communication, or a patient experience may point to a much bigger concern. Instead of immediately trying to solve the problem, slow down and ask one more question. The extra question can often reveal what really matters.

This Week’s Challenge: When a referral source raises a concern this week, ask, “Tell me a little more about that.” Then listen before offering a solution.
